submitted by SARAH JOHNSON Director of Undergraduate Admissions Two Tiffin University graduates who have dedicated their lives to educating today's youth have been recently recognized for their work. Jessica Corns has been shortlisted for an award, and Jon Hemmelgarn has been promoted to assistant principal of his high school. Jessica Corns, a teacher at Jean Ribault Middle School in Jacksonville, Fla., was one of the many teachers nominated for a Teacher of the Year award in her area. The winner will be announced at a gala on March 12, 2016. Corns graduated with a BA of Education from Tiffin University.
Read more at The Florida Times-Union. Jon Hemmelgarn was appointed as the assistant principal of Washington High School in Washington Court House, Ohio, beating out ten other applicants. He earned his undergraduate degree in integrated language arts at Tiffin University and a master's degree in educational administration at Ball State University. He taught ninth grade English at the Washington Court House school district from August 2010 until he was promoted to his new position this year. Read more at The Record Herald.
