Tiffin University’s annual Drag Night, hosted by SPECTRUM, wowed audiences in the Gillmor gymnasium on Tuesday, March 29. This event was full of surprises and outstanding performances. The emcees for the night were Toledo-based drag performer Deja Dellataro and TU’s very own Felicity St. Germaine (alumnus Aaron Stewart). Both fabulous ladies were not only emcees, they also slayed performances of their own.

The night was full of amazing acts, and there were three awards given at the end of the event to the best queen, best king, and best group.

Best queen went to none other than Chelly-Rae (William Dixon), working her best moves to “Work from Home” by Fifth Harmony.

Best king was awarded to Lil’ Eddy (Emma Wegner), who lip synced his was through “White and Nerdy” by “Weird Al” Yankovic.

Lola and the Busty Cop (Mike Herdlick & Steve Hurwitz) stole the night, winning best group for their performance of “Get Low” by Lil Jon, “X Gon’ Give It to Ya” by DMX, and “My House” by Flo Rida.

To live on campus or to live off campus? That is the question student’s face when we first enter college. Despite our choice, both living situations have positive and negative aspects.

In high school many of us probably couldn’t wait to go off to college and live the college experience that we have seen portrayed in Hollywood blockbusters like Pitch Perfect, American Pie: Beta House, and National Lampoon’s Animal House. We thought living on campus would mean no curfews and going to amazing frat parties.

When it comes to living on campus, there is the dreaded or exciting roommate ordeal. Some people wonder if they will get a roommate that they won’t like or if they will get a roommate they will become best friends with. There is always the possibility of not having a roommate by living in a single dorm room, but that may be impossible as a first year student.

Tiffin University students enrolled in Ohio History visited the Hayes Presidential Library and Museums located in Fremont, Ohio.

Not only did the students visit the recently restored home of the nineteenth president of the United States, they were given a behind the scenes tour of the library and museum's archives.  Students were able to view many items in the collection, including many historic images and documents pertaining to Rutherford B. Hayes, that are not often viewed by the public.  The class was also introduced to resources available to them at the library and were given a lecture further introducing them to the political career of Hayes.

For many students, this was the first time that they visited the Hayes Presidential Library and Museums, said Professor Andrew Van Camp.  Thanks to the generosity of the School of Arts and Sciences, students were able to experience this excellent historical and cultural resource, he said.  The class would also like to thank the staff at the museum, especially Dustin McLochlin, Nan Card, Becky Hill, and the Hayes Home guides, for organizing such an exceptional and engaging experience.
