by ABBEY HOBBS Staff writer How did you get started in theater? Both of my parents really loved the arts. My dad was a trumpet player and my mom danced when she was young. I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and she put my sister and myself in ballet. My sister did about a year of it, but I absolutely loved it. I always wanted to stay with it. That was always my decision. I just really liked performing, so when I was 6 my mom took me around to some auditions, and I wound up being in Madam Butterfly as the mute little boy.
